LOD: 「エリンが挑戦!にほんごできます。」【日本語】Erin’s Challenge! I can speak Japanese

For all those self studiers out there, you may already know about this site or just this series. For me I found this series through YT and watched all of them there. Months later I found out there was a site as well. So even if you don’t watch all the videos on YT or use their textbook (yes there are textbooks and the DVDs), you can use this site to help you with your studies.

It’s a free sign up and there is also a little RPG where you make an avatar and talk to people in town.

besides that, the rest of the site has video lessons with subtitles in 日本語・かな・Romaji・your language and interactive exercises.

The site has English, Espanol, Portugues, Korean, and Chinese (Canto I believe). You can also put the site in Japanese if you want to challenge yourself or if you’re just already that amazing and you need the Japanese to practice even more. Either way it’s a good practice site even if you know the basics.

When I started watching this series I was level 0 in knowing Japanese. The videos did help me with my listening but even at the end of it I didn’t know too much. I eventually went back to the videos for review and was amazed at how much I improved in understanding but there were still points of grammar I learned and forgot. The videos helped. Thanks Japan Foundation for updating your Japanese learning videos although I still like the 1980s video series Yan-san and the Japanese People. Also seen on Youtube (Click link to see what I mean). Which also I watched AFTER “Erin ga Choosen”.

Check the site out if you want a less serious looking way of studying. I like colorful things and this site definitely helped me stay motivated when I got bored with my other (large amount) of Japanese textbooks.

頑張れ!
